CLEAN COMMUNITIES

Clean Communities is a voluntary program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy that is designed to accelerate and expand the use of alternative fuels in communities throughout the country and to develop the necessary infrastructure. Clean Communities works directly with local businesses and governments, guiding them through each step in the process of building the foundation for a vibrant local program.

This is the second meeting of the group interested in formally organizing a Hudson Valley Clean Communities (HVCC) coalition designed to be a successor to the White Plains Clean City coalition.  Broad participation is strongly encouraged.  We do expect the structure of the group will be formalized during the meeting.

Becoming a part of the Clean Communities program would bring extra Federal dollars to the area and allow the Hudson Valley to take advantage of financial incentives and the environmental, public health, energy security and economic benefits that the program offers.  Alternative fuels can benefit the Hudson Valley by creating commercial opportunities and jobs in the sale, conversion and maintenance of AFVs and the installation and service of associated infrastructure.

Please respond by Thursday, March 4th if you are able to join us.  If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to send someone else on your behalf.  Also, please pass this information on to any other appropriate offices.    Contact Donna Denley at donna@eba-nys.org or call the EBA/NYS office at (518) 432-6400 x224.

Increased attendance has required us to move the meeting and attendees will not be able to order off the menu and pay individually. The flat fee for the lunch buffet is $20 per person, paid upon arrival, cash or check only (cash preferred). Receipts will be available.

Very truly yours,

Ira S. Rubenstein, Executive Director, EBA/NYS
Gerry Bogacz, New York Metropolitan Transportation Council
