Call for Papers and Presentations:

2004 Empire Energy and Environmental Exposition (E4^TM)

October 12 & 13, 2004

The Environmental Business Association of New York State, Inc. (EBA/NYS) will hold the 4^th annual Empire Energy & Environmental Exposition (E4^TM) at the Gideon Putnam Hotel and Conference Center in Saratoga Springs, New York on October 12th and 13th, 2004. An estimated 500 professionals, business leaders, policymakers, and governmental leaders from all regions of New York State will gather under the same roof to advance the market for energy and environmental issues.

The mission of the Empire Energy & Environmental Exposition is to stimulate business development, awareness and growth opportunities through networking and educational seminars; act as an information clearinghouse for market, regulatory, technical, and financial information, and serve as the voice for informing government and business leaders about the needs and economic opportunities of the energy and environmental industry.

This year’s exposition is seeking 250 word proposals for papers and presentations in the following broad categories:

Case Studies – Case studies of energy and environmental business development, healthy and high performance building design.

Process, Policy & Tools – Presentations describing energy and environmental design tools such as energy simulation, performance verification, rating systems, life cycle analysis, etc. This category also covers discussion about the process of policy, design, and construction.

Systems & Strategies – Presentations dealing with products, materials, building systems and particular design strategies.

Education & Policy – Presentations addressing training, marketing, economics, funding, government initiatives, regulatory issues, and similar topics.

250 word (maximum) abstract describing presentation, including:

Names of all presenters,

Presenters’ affiliations,

Category of presentation (Case Study; Process Policy & Tools; Systems & Strategies; or Education & Policy),

Description of how presentation fits within the mission of the E⁴ Exposition, and

Whether or not the presentation team intends to submit a presentation and paper for the proceedings, or just to submit a copy of their presentation.

Presenter Timeline

April 21, 2004 – 250 word abstract submissions due to the EBA/NYS.

May 1, 2004 – Notification of abstract acceptance from the EBA/NYS.

June 14, 2004 – 4 to 6 page papers, or a copy of the proposed presentation due to the EBA/NYS for the E4 proceedings.

July 16, 2004 – Comments on presentations or papers returned from the EBA/NYS.

September 1, 2004 – Final draft of paper or presentation due to the EBA/NYS for the proceedings.

October 12 & 13, 2004 – Empire Energy and Environmental Exposition at the Gideon Putnam Hotel and Convention Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.
