AIR BARRIER SYSTEMS:

Ways to Control Building Air Leakage

Thursday March 4, 2004 - 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Double Tree Club Hotel (formerly The Pillars)

125 High Street, Buffalo, New York

Guest Speaker:

Tony Woods, President, Canam Building Envelope Specialists, Inc.

Air leakage has been shown to represent the single largest source of heat loss or gain through the building envelope for nearly all building types.  Caused by chimney (stack) effect, wind and mechanical pressures – it is also responsible for air quality problems (cigarette smoke, odor transfer, mold, moisture problems); thermal discomfort (drafts); and other problems such as noise, dust and pest egress.  Federal and State Building Codes are now starting to require Air Barrier Systems.
