SCHOOLS INITIATIVE:
New York City and New York State
The
EBA/NYS Green Buildings Task Force (GBTF) High Performance Schools (HPS)
Committee has been organized to encourage and advance green schools projects in
New York State.
The EBA/NYS GBTF HPS Committee is collaborating with the Healthy Schools
Network, Inc. on a Healthy High Performance Schools (HHPS) Initiative to
encourage and advance Green School Building Standards in New York State through
policy implementation.
The HPS Committee will work to increase the number of schools projects that are
executed in a manner consistent with healthy high performance standards and to
promote legislative, regulatory and administrative actions intended to support
and help finance such efforts.

Short Bios
Ernest A. Conrad has focused on environmental issues for over 20 years, his engineering firm specializing in climate controls for museums, special collections and historic facilities, as well as the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial and retail applications. Clients include the National Gallery of Art, Library of Congress, National Trust for Historic Preservation, National park and many house museums. Conrad is a member of the National Archives and Records Administration Advisory Committee on Preservation; a voting member of the ASHRAE Standards Committee SSPC 90.1; and for the last 10 years, has been partnering with state agencies and manufacturers of high pressure fire suppression systems.
Marcello DiGeronimo, as architect and project manager at DiGeronimo PA, is responsible for administering all phases of projected through construction work. He has primary responsibility for budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, specification and working drawings on a given project with authority to direct, control and monitor all activities; and has considerable experience working with various public agencies on complex project teams. Marcello has provided key design leadership on projects for NJ Transit, U.S. Postal Service and University of North Carolina Hospitals.
