BuildingPerformance.net, the Building
Performance Contractors Association of New York State, Inc., and the
Environmental Business Association of New York State, Inc. will present an
upcoming workshop on current state-of-the-art best practices to control
moisture and prevent mold. The instructor will be Bob Kahabka, a
veteran building performance expert with Performance Systems Development of
Ithaca, NY.
A full-day technical workshop for
building professionals, home performance contractors, code officials, and
facilities managers - this workshop will examine common and uncommon
sources of mold in building systems along with detailed strategies for
preventing mold and controlling moisture to preserve the integrity of building
materials. Participants will learn how uncontrolled building pressures can
misdirect moisture, and examine how building materials respond to moisture,
using demonstrations and hands-on activities to illustrate common best
practices. This workshop will be held on Thursday, March 4th, from 9am to
5pm. The cost for this event is $149.00 and a light lunch will be
included. This course has been approved for BPI
Continuing Education Units by the Building Performance Institute.
This workshop will encourage audience participation, utilizing lecture, field
examples, demonstrations, slides, and handouts. It will be held at
the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Facility at 286 Deyo
