Pollution Prevention, also known as P2, concerns the reduction of overall waste products by altering the way businesses do business. For example, a company could promote the use of non-toxic substances, implement conservation techniques, and recycle materials rather than simply discarding them. There are any number of resources available on the topic, especially in light of the 1990 Pollution Prevention Act as passed by Congress and promoted by the EPA.
